  There is no other place on the planet that compares to Topped Doughnts. I request these in lieu of birthday cake every year. Maple bacon is delicious, but they are all amazing.

  Topped used to be the best donut shop in Ankeny. Over the last 2-3 years, prices have gone up while selection and service have gone way down. The staff act like it is an inconvenience to have to serve you, and they hardly ever make the classic donuts that made me fall in love with them in the first place.
  
  I used to go here almost once a month to get a dozen donuts to bring with me to work. The experience has been so terrible the last few visits that I will not be going back. They only get two stars because I remember when this place deserved 6/5 stars.

  I have stopped in twice now. Apparently you have to be there before ten or eleven to even get a donut. I've tried driving out of town twice to find only disgruntled workers who didn't even greet me. This happened twice. They pointed at some unappealing day old looking donuts, and it wasn't even ten. Maybe I'm missing something, but don't want to support a business with rude staff. I did not feel welcome.
